New refractory development and practices for the shaft furnace of noranda metallurgy CCR refinery

This paper presents new refractory developments, practices and techniques in CCR's shaft furnace. CCR Refinery of Noranda Metallurgy has implemented the use of monolithic refractory to replace the original refractory lining based on silicon carbide bricks.
