Analysis of the Employment Effect of the CDM Forestation and Reforestation Project of Heilongjiang Province

Launching forestry activities for carbon sequestration actively and enhancing the forest coverage rate ,which, is important for easing the change of the climate and improving the sustainable development of forestry region. Meanwhile, it is also a key way to resolve the current unemployment problem of the forestry region. According to the China statistical yearbook (2002-2009) and China's clean development mechanism carbon sequestration project's successful cases "Facilitating Reforestation for Guangxi Watershed Management in Pearl River Basin Project", using the input-output analysis method, the Shelter forest forestation engineering investment estimation index and the instruction of the National Bureau of Forestry, the direct and indirect employment chances generated from the Heilongjiang CDM Forestation and Reforestation were computed. The research reflects the total direct and indirect employment chances generated by the CDM Forestation and Reforestation are considerable, these chances can actually improve the current unemployment problem of the forestry region.
