Studies on plant genetic diversity is the basis of germplasm innovation and breeding. In this paper, 9 morphological traits of 235 broomcorn millet resources were analyzed on variation and genetic diversity. The results showed that there were significant difference and abundant genetic diversity in the trials on morphological traits. Spike length has the highest diversity index of 2.073 and greater coefficient variation of 16.66%. 1000-seed weight has the lowest coefficient variation of 11.33%, but it has higher diversity index of 2.005. When the Nei's genetic similarity coefficient is 3.80, most of 235 accessions are clustered into six groups in the dendrogram based on clustering analysis of morphological traits. Among six groups, the first group's growth period, plant height, nodes of main stem, spikes per plant, spikes per plant and spike length are all the highest, 1000-seed weight is higher. The third group's growth period, plant height and spike length is higher, which is second to the first group's, and the 1000-seed weight is the highest. Variety of resources for our trials on collection and protection and utilization of germplasm resources provide a wealthy material base.
