Embeddable, commercially based, high performance computing

Tremendous strides are being made in the development ofnapplications for high performance computing systems. One of the factorsnlimiting further applications has been the lack of small, rugged,nembeddable systems to support embedded airborne, shipboard, andnlandbased installations. Litton Guidance and Control Systems, withnMasPar Computer Corporation, and support from the Advanced ResearchnProjects Agency (ARPA), Computer Systems Technology Office (CSTO), arenaddressing this problem. Together, we are repackaging MasPar's highlynsuccessful, commercial, massively parallel processing system to minimizensize and maximize survivability in severe environments. The resultingnrugged high performance massively parallel processing system is softwarentransparent with the commercial systems
