摘要

A tape peeling model based on a static geometrical consideration of the peel zone was derived which incorporates the role of peel angle and friction on adhesion. The proposed model was tested on a model tape to predict the peel force as a function of peel angle. The model accurately predicted the peel behavior. The model was applied to the gecko adhesive system and reasonably explains the apparent discrepancies in the magnitudes of the pull-off forces measured in previous experimental studies performed on different hierarchical structures of geckos.
