Abstract: In the fall of 1988 the construction and testing of a 4 m diameter, segmented, active mirror was completed. Developed to demonstrate the technology for 10 m class mirrors for beam expanders in high energy laser systems, diffraction-limited performance at the design wavelength was achieved. !0
