Varieties of Puccinellia tenui flora (PT) were harvested on 17th May, 9th, and 20th June, and 8 th July 2005 at Daan city in Jilin. . Digestibility and digestion rate (k) of dry matter (DM) and organic cell walls (OCW) of PT in the rumen were determined with an in vitro method. The potential digestibility of DM and OCW at each data was 49.3%-76.9% and 43.7%-73.2% , respectively. The digestion rate (k) of OCW was between -3.58% and-5. 56% , with the earlier the harvest having the faster digestion rate. The results confirmed that early harvesting of PT produces good forage for beef cattle.
