A new mollusicidal chemical substance, with the molecular weight of 722 and mole - cular formula as C_(39)H_(64)O_(11)N has been extracted from the unripe berries of Solanum xanthocarpum, which originate from the tropical regions. Extracted with water and n-butanol, the product from S. xanthocarpum has got a lethality of 100percent of the oncomelania hupensis (which can both live on land and in water) by immersing the snails for 48 hours, when its concentration reached 33mg/l. Determined by chemical and spectrometric methods, the structure of the product is similar to that of Khasianine which also has the skeleton of solasodine.
