摘要

From the life protection and long-run point of view, safety science and technology are the most important considerations in the construction, as well as in the running period, of the underground powerhouse. In this paper, the application of monitoring combined with numerical analysis in the safety excavation of large scaled hydropower underground opening complex is introduced. The safety monitoring system of the underground powerhouse complex and the typical geological condition, as well as the excavation and supporting process are described, and key points to the safety and stability of the powerhouse surrounding rock mass are mentioned. The general considerations and results of the numerical study are used as the references for the construction of the Ertan hydropower plant underground powerhouse.
