The olefins industry in India is relatively young; the first olefins plant was a 60,000 TPA naphtha based NOCIL with a foreign equity (shell) holding. This was followed by I.P.C.L. a multi products and multi locational company, a leader in the manufacturing and marketing of pertrochemical products in India, which set up an integrated naphtha based olefins complex with an ethylene capacity of 1,30,000 TPA.
