The Mixed Use of Absolute/Intrinsic Framework of Spatial Expression in Ikema Dialect of Miyako Ryukyuan

摘要

This study shows that Ikema dialect of Miyako Ryukyuan (spoken in some parts of Miyako island in Okinawa, Japan, "Ikema dialect" for short) has a mixed use of the frameworks of the spatial expressions. Ikema dialect has three different frameworks for spatial expressions, as in many other languages: absolute, relative (observer-oriented), and intrinsic (object- oriented) as listed in (1)(2).
