1. LiFePO_4 can be successfully produced by a variety of processes and starting materials.rn2. Early work started with solid state preparations and migrated to solution processing techniques.rn3. Processes are available for low-cost, large scale production. 4. Carbon-coated nano-size particles can be produced with excellent cycle life and high rate capability (50C discharge). 5. LiFePO_4 has excellent safety characteristics and is environmentally friendly.
