AUTOMATION OF MISSION OPERATIONS AT ESOC

The European Space Operations Center (ESOC) isrncurrently defining its approach to increased automationrnof spacecraft and ground segment operations.rnResponsibility for mission operations at ESOC isrntypically split into two parts. The first of these dealsrnwith the allocation and operations of shared resources,rnI.e. ground stations, communications links etc., thernsecond with the actual operations of the spacecraft andrnassociated mission specific resources as well as thernusage of allocated shared resources. This paper outlinesrnthe approach being taken by ESOC in moving towardsrnautomation of these areas.
