Empirical formula for approximate evaluation of density of molten mixtures of alkali chlorides with rare earth chlorides based on density of individual components has been proposed. The density is computed via additive sum of molar volumes of the pure components by taking three empirical corrections into account. V_(m(mix)) = (x_1·V_(ml) + x_2·V_(m2))·(1 + K_1·K_2·K_3) (1) K_1 correction describes the shape of curve of excess molar volume. K_2 and K_3 are concerning the changes due to substitution one alkali cations with others and the temperature dependence. The coefficients suggested are valid for density (molar volume) calculations of any binary mixtures of alkali and rare earth chlorides. It is expected that accuracy of the formula (1) reaches 1-2% (above accuracy of the individual components).
