DEVELOPMENT OF 250 kW STACK FOR 1 MW MCFC POWER PLANT

1000 kW MCFC Plant which has been developing in the "New Sunshine Program" of MITI was constructed at the Kawagoe test site. The stack developers (IHI and HITACHI) designed and fabricated 250 kW stacks and has installed in the plant. IHI's 250 kW stack has 125 kW sub-stacks in a pressure vessel. The sub-stacks which are a center feed type with 140 cells were tested the performances in the factory before shipping. The inspection items were the gas leakage, I-V characteristics, and dielectric strength. Their performances estimated from the factory tests satisfies the design targets.
