Visual Responses on Natural Luminous Environments in Atrium Interior Spaces

For the atrium design, it is necessary to evaluate the user's responses on visual environment created by daylighting. This study aims to evaluate visual responses on natural luminous environment of atria through the qualitative analysis. The interior space of 1/25 scale model similar to real atrium was made and pictured based on glazing transmittance. And, questionnaire surveys were conducted by K university students. The subjective visual responses were analyzed by SPSS. Factor, variance, correlation and regression analyses were performed. The results were as follows: ① three factors (pleasantness, atmosphere, dynamics) were extracted. ②Users have a good response to transmittance 80% rather than 30% and 100%. ③ In the overall, satisfaction of natural luminous environment related to" friendly", "warm", "comfort" and so on.
