A DISCUSSION OF THE LOGISTICS OF DISTRIBUTION CENTRE OPERATION SYSTEMS

In today's competitive environment the Logistics Distribution Centre (DC) has become a factor of major importance in the promotion of operational efficiency and maximum benefits for enterprise. In the framework of practice in the People's Republic of China, our discussion in this paper is considered under the following titles: government assisted system, multi-enterprise sharing system, single-enterprise system and government-enterprise system. The paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of these four systems under seven headings. The four-score model is adopted to evaluate these systems. Characteristics and practicalities of the various systems are examined and analysed, and the best one identified.
