MOBIL OIL AG is the operator of a sour gas treating complex nearrnBremen, Germany.rnTwo large MOBIL DIRECT OXIDATION PROCESS (MODOP) units are inrnsuccessful operation to treat the tail gas from three Claus unitsrnwith a total capacity of 850 tons sulfur per day. The total sulfurrnrecovery in the combined Claus-MODOP units exceeds 99.5% which meetsrnthe latest stringent European emission standards.rnThe MODOP technology developed by Mobil Oil AG utilizes a titaniumrndioxide catalyst to achieve the conversion of hydrogen sulfide tornelemental sulfur in a simple conventional processing step.
