This paper describes the realisation of an automaticrncontrol system for use in nerve cuff recordings. Thernsystem compensates for any impedance mismatches inrnthe cuff by adaptively adjusting the gains of the inputrndifferential amplifiers connected to the cuff electrodes.rnAs a result, interference pick-up during nerve recordingsrnis greatly reduced. The gains of the variable gainrnamplifiers are adjusted by means of current feedback.rnThe control chip was fabricated in 0.8μm CMOSrntechnology, has a core area of 0.35mm~2 and consumesrn3.5mW from ±2.5V power supplies.
