In an exemplary way this paper deals with the question whether it is possible to predict the penetration performance of a large scale shaped charge against large scale reactive armor by modeling the shaped charge and the reactive armor by means of an appropriate scaling factor. Experiments were performed with a small and a medium caliber shaped charge. All important shaped charge and jet parameters like caliber, liner wall thickness, jet length, penetration depth at 2 calibers standoff and breakup time scaled by the same linear factor of about 1.5. Liner cone angle and jet tip velocity had the same values. With this pair of charges firings were done on reactive armor targets with geometric dimensions scaled like those of the shaped charges. The question was whether or not the penetration depths showed the same scaling as the corresponding shaped charges and reactive armors.
