Microtunnelling Innovations

Beside the standard requirements on microtunnelling some of today’s main requirements are to increasernjacking length, driving in changing ground conditions or access to the tunnel face. To meet thesernrequirements it is necessary to reduce the friction on the pipe conduit, to increase effectiveness and life timernof cutter tools and to install modern technical components. Herrenknecht AG`s Automatic BentoniternLubrication System and the Fine Particle Flushing circuit are technical developments to reduce the friction onrnthe pipe conduit. AVN machines bigger than ID 1200 mm offers access to the tunnel face even underrngroundwater in combination with an airlock system. Special Back Loading System make exchange of cutterrntools underground possible. The standard ELS laser guidance system can be extended by HerrenknechtrnAG`s long distance and curve guidance system SLS- RV. In contrast to the SLS- RV the Gyro TunnellingrnSystem is available, which does not need a ELS and which is installed directly in the machine. The scope ofrninnovative components for today’s requirements is completed by parts like cone crusher, high pressurernflushing and intermediate jacking stations.
