CLOUD COMPUTING - TRACKING THIS EMERGING PHENOMENON

Is Cloud Computing a buzz word? Cloud Computing describes an Internet-based approach for developing information and communication technology and offering services. These services are offered from data centres all over the world, which collectively are referred to as a "cloud." This metaphor represents the intangible, yet universal nature of the Internet. Cloud Computing represents a shift away from computing as a product that is purchased, to computing as a service that is delivered to consumers over the internet from large-scale data centre, the so called "cloud". We investigate this emerging issue because it is an issue in some EU projects dealing with "detecting emerging issues". We analyse this emerging issue once in scientific literature and once in Google Trends.
