With the widespread use of VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal, proposed by Hughes Company) network solution, some aspects of VSAT network, such as the transparent transmission and the openness, need to be improved to counter security threats. This paper proposes a new authentication scheme named lite-CA (Lite Certification Authority) to reduce the number of simultaneous interaction within the framework of VSAT network. In order to achieve a high real-time data transmission encryption, a new encryption algorithm-HW-F (high weight function) is used to replace the traditional public key encryption system and symmetric encryption system. By analyzing the VSAT network, VSAT network is simulated based on the SDK (Software Development Kit) and UGIS (Urban Geographic Information System) to realize data encryption and access authentication. The test result shown in this paper illustrates that this new authentication can be a method of allowing for communication reliability of VSAT.
