Silicone oil is stable upon exposure to flue gas under elevated conditions of operationrn3. Rich MEA solvent and silicone oil are immiscible and stable upon contactrn4. Concept of direct contact heat transfer from HTF to the rich MEA solvent via mixing was demonstrated providing a portion of reboiler heat.rn5. Sensible heat exchange from the HTF to Rich MEA solvent reduced the reboiler heat duty by 14.5%rn6. Future work, investigate and identify best HRU integration scheme in a coal-fired power plant.
