摘要

With the development in power electronics industry, electrical appliances have become more power electronic based. The power quality is affected by increased use of these nonlinear loads and increases harmonics in low voltage distribution system. Different brands of laptops such as Sony Vaio, HP, Lenovo are taken in this paper for power quality monitoring by using HIOKI PW3198 Power Quality Analyzer. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) is calculated for individual laptop and then combined impact of these laptops on power quality are also seen. To compare the harmonics impact and analysis of power quality, different laptops reactive power, active power, apparent power and power factor also measured. Such experimental results help engineers to evaluate the harmonic that exists within a laptops and IT sector.
