摘要

Nowadays, WSNs are used in many areas such as military, health, environmental monitoring. Since WSNs consist of energy limited nodes and in many applications replacing or recharging the nodes is impossible, energy efficiency has become one of the most significant issues. In this study, a mathematical expression is obtained to determine the optimum number of hops for minimum power consumption in a multi-hop WSN including equidistantly deployed nodes. After the optimum number of hops is being found, optimum number of sensor nodes required for the WSN application could be also computed.
