Through data-mining of material genome approach, perovskite-type BiFeO3-Bi(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O3-PbTiO3 and BiFeO3-Bi(Zn1/2Ti1/2)O3-BaTiO3 ternary solid solution were designed theoretically and demonstrated experimentally to be promising novel high temperature ferroelectric piezoceramic materials. Like the PZT system, they are potential alternatives of PbNb2O6 and Bi4Ti3O12-based piezoceramics for future piezotronic applications operating in the hot environments.
