摘要

High voltage transmission line fault location algorithm without synchronization, which does not require sampling synchronization, reduces cost and has a higher practical engineering value. But the algorithm still needs to be improved in the false root identification of ranging equation, this paper makes a further research on this issue. Firstly, the false root problem of fault location algorithm without synchronization is analyzed, and then a new false root identification method is proposed for the case that the traditional method can't be distinguished when the voltage amplitudes are close. The new method is based on the difference of the existence of the false root in the calculation of the voltage along the line with different electrical modulus. The proposed algorithm is simple, easy to solve and more universal. ATP-EMTP simulation results verify effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm.
