The use of brain wave patterns as a biometric is highly resistant to fraud. The ease of collecting P300 event-related potentials from most subjects also makes it a potential biometric for the general public. This paper proposes a method to use topological plots typical to the study of P300 as a biometric in individual identification and authentication. The variation in latency and location of P300 response across four subjects performing the P3Speller task was studied. The result shows that three out of four subjects could be identified, though the accuracy could be further improved with more individualized pre-processing measures.
