The mobility management schemes which are proposed recently almost focus on the support of IPv6 addressing. However, some applications will still require IPv4 addresses to interoperate. Migrating the users and devices from IPv4 to IPv6 has attracted more attentions in several research institutes. Existing mechanisms for the transition solutions includes dual stack, translation and tunnel technology. This paper is to design and implement Proxy Mobile IPv6 Dual Stack Protocol which are IPv4 home address mobility support and IPv4 transport support, enabling the dual-stack nodes to communicate in IPv4 and IPv6 domain respectively and resolving the issues of participating in mobility for hosts, which is the first implementation in Proxy Mobile IPv6 environment as far as our knowledge goes. Testing results indicate such implementation is consistent with the relevant protocol specifications. And the performance analysis shows it does not result in interruption for frequent handoff.
