Based on the simplification of parallel indexing cam contour milling system, dynamic model of parallel indexing cam contour milling system and milling error model were established. So milling error of cam contour can be predicted. It follows from simulation and analysis of milling error that milling error is determined by cutting parameters. Milling error will increase with the increase of axial cutting depth, radial cutting depth or feeding speed, but it will decrease with the increase of spindle speed. Results of simulation analysis coincide with the practical manufacturing situation.
