MATERIAL RESEARCH FOR STANDARDIZED CANINE KNEE BRACES FOR LARGE BREED DOGS

The overall purpose of this project is to create a standardized, inexpensive, large breed caninernknee brace that will be widely available to pet owners and veterinarians. Currently available kneernbraces have considerable costs, long lead times and limited availability. As an undergraduaternresearcher, the scope of research was to investigate materials and manufacturing techniquesrnfeasible for a supportive and effective large breed canine knee brace. During the implementationrnseveral materials were tested and chosen for use in the brace. Ultimately, 3 material prototypesrnwere manufactured to demonstrate the function of the brace.
