Acidizing treatment under the offshore environment is limitedrndue to the high cost, complex treatment procedures and manyrnHSE problems. In this paper, new acidizing and operationalrntechniques were developed to simplify treatment procedures,rnto improve treatment efficiency, as well as to reduce treatmentrncost and HSE risks, under the offshore environment. Thernproposed new acidizing techniques allowed the acidizingrntreatment to be conducted with original ESP strings with thernspecial corrosion protection. A new acid system was thusrndeveloped to reduce the corrosion and formation damage forrnthe SZ36-1 Field, Bohai Gulf. Under the proposed acidrnsystem, the original ESP strings and ESP are applicable duringrnthe acidizing treatment, which was proven by both laboratoryrnexperiments and field practice. The proposed operationalrntechnique improved the efficiency of returns handling. All ofrnthese techniques were successfully applied to stimulate morernthan 200 oil wells in the Bohai Gulf, China. The field practicernhas indicated that the proposed techniques not onlyrnsignificantly enhance well productivity, but also improve therntreatment efficiency and reduce the treatment cost and HSErnrisks under the offshore environment.
