The Research on the Design of Filter Banks in Generalized Multi-carrier Technique

In this paper the new multi-carrier modulation technique - Generalized multi-carrier (GMC) based on filter banks is studied for the next mobile communication system, which uses the filter banks to get a high level of subchannel spectral containment to eliminate inter-channel interference (ICI). The technique of filter design in GMC system is researched emphatically and we design the prototype filters that are required in GMC system by the least square error and peak-constrained least square error method. The performances of prototype filters and GMC system in wireless environment are simulated. We can see the filter designed by latter method can get better performance because it overcomes the Gibbs phenomenon of magnitude response of filters.
