STUDY ON HOURLY ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND USER’S LIFESTYLE OF SOHOARCHITECTURE IN THE CENTRAL TOKYO

“The California's energy crisis of 2000,” like a bombrnexploding in the crowd, alerted the world to the issuesrnsurrounding having a safe and secure energy supply.rnEnergy-saving problem comes to the life of everybodyrnand it affects people’s life style.rnIn order to build a stable and energy-saving supplyrnsystem, it is important to establish database of energyrnconsumption for buildings. This study aims to clarify therncorrelation between hourly energy consumption and lifernstyle of users, as well as to establish an hourly energyrnconsumption database of SOHO (Small Office HomernOffice) in urban center, which will serve as a baselinernwhen such a building is designed. For this purpose,rn24-hour investigations on SOHO were conducted in therncentral Tokyo area. Based on the results, the database ofrnhourly energy consumption basic unit was established.rnThe results from the study show that multipurposernbuilding is helpful to level the peak load of energyrnconsumption, which contributes to improving stablernenergy supply. Also, the life style of each user has a greatrnimpact on energy consumption both in value and inrnpattern. The results show that it is very important to takerncontrol of individual energy consumption.
