Rotary drum filters are the most applied rotary filter technology used in a wide range ofrnindustrial applications. The special advantages of drum filters are the excellent possibility forrnfilter cake washing and the wide variety and flexibility concerning the cake discharge withrnnumerous discharge variants. Another strong-point of the drum filter type is the significantlyrnsmaller footprint compared to competitive filter types e. g. the belt filter type.rnThese benefits have led to a multitude of different applications and to numerous drum filterrnvariants. Since the mutual relation between the product, the process and the filter apparatusrnchanges from application to application there is nearly no other filter type that has to meetrnmore individual requirements than the drum filter type. Therefore, a modern drum filterrnconcept must have an individual design adapted to every individual application for ensuringrnan optimal operation and performance as well as an easy maintenance. The basis is a wellrncalculated filter hydraulic for every individual separation task.
