An analytical approach to calculate the scattered field from a vertical full post in a rectangular waveguide is presented. The reflection and transmission coefficients of a circular post are derived in closed form using the image theory, the lattice sums technique, and the T-matrix of a circular cylinder. Numerical examples are compared with those obtained using the finite element method and the method of moments.
