Controlling Noise in Electrical Substations

This work describes some of the research effort on substation noise control being carried out at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, UFMG, at the local electricity power company CEMIG. A description of the acoustic evaluation of a typical substation inside an urban environment is provided, together with the corresponding acoustic modelling considerations. Both active and passive noise control solutions are described and exemplified.
