CDMA for UMTS and IMT-2000

摘要

In the paper, the decision of ETSI towards UTRA (UMTS Terrestrial Rdio Access System) will be illustrated. The backgrounds and results of the standardization process are touched and the two modes WCDMA (Wideband CDMA) and TD-CDMA (Time Division CDMA) of UTRA will be discussed. The specific advantages of TD-CDMA will be dealt with, and rule-of-the-thumb formulas for quantifying some basic properties of UTRA will be presented.
