Present day cellular mobile communication systems operate in the frequency band of 800-900 MHz and Personal Communication Systems in 1800-2200 MHz range Looking at the demand for these systems, one has to think about the increase in the capacity. Researchers like Dr. W.C.Y. Lee and Prof. R. Steele proposed the use of frequencies higher than 30 GHz for capacity enhancement and RACE has already undertaken the feasibility study of 60 GHz for the use in Mobile Communication.
