The paper introduces and explains the term Service Machines as a concept for unbundling of logical entities in telecommunication networks and customer service management environments.An implied paradigm shift is proposed to change focus from networks to customers and users.As an aid in the understanding of network services and their interactions a User Agent implementation model is introduced.The SIB and SLEE approaches developed in the Intelligent Network area are evaluated as candidate technologies for the future Servioc Muchines.Finally different network implementations of IN are discussed relative to their costs and impact to the network and to the operational organizations.
