Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) and visual discomfort among office workers with intensive computer use is widespread and the prevalence of neck/shoulder pain has been growing these past decades. This longitudinal laboratory study investigated the effects of office ergonomics and workstation design on musculoskeletal and visual discomfort. Participants were randomly assigned to one of the training conditions: Ergonomics training (n=11) and No-training (n=11). Using an Instructional Systems Design approach, the office ergonomics training was created. The training consisted of two phases: a 1.5-hour interactive in-class instruction and an experiential practice period. Reminders about ergonomics tips were given to the trained participant over the 15 days.
