ULTRASTRUCTURAL STUDY OF THE REPLICATION CYCLE OF PSEUDORABIES VIRUS IN THE NASAL MUCOSA OF SWINE

We found no differences between the experimentally infected natural host and cell culture systems concerning PRV morphogenesis. Our data also agree with previous reports demonstrating that different populations of cells are differentially permissive to PRV infection. Moreover, our results suggest that PRV may either induce or be unable to block apoptosis of nonpermissive cells.
