The paper presents design of the MERTIS POIntingrnUnit of the Bepi Colombo mission. Demandedrntechnical, environment and performance brought usrnto described design. The description is focused onrnthe stepper motor concept and highly integrated thernpointing mirror with support made of ceramicrnmaterial CeSiC. The technology of position controlrnwith hall sensors and other part of MPOI are shortlyrndescribed. The stepper motor description presentsrndesign and test results of pre-qualification models ofrnMPOI with different type of lubrications: greasebasedrn(Braycote 601EF) and dry lubricatedrn(Wolfratherm). Results of test are discussed andrnfinal solution for the flight model is presented.
