An extended generation of Hall effect PlasmarnThruster Module Assembly (TM) has been designedrnby THALES ALENIA SPACE in the frame of thernXenon Propulsion System (XPS) . The XPS is used onrnthe new generic ALPHABUS platform jointly underrnqualification by THALES ALENIA SPACE andrnASTRIUM in the frame of a CNES and ESA supportrnand funding .rnThe XPS Thruster Module take benefits from :rn1. Thruster Orientation Mechanism (TOM)rnfrom THALES ALENIA SPACE mechanismrnbased on a flight proven heritage andrnimproved by a delta design. One of the mainrnachievement here has been to introduce thisrnimprovement while keeping the qualificationrnheritage : life time and thermal qualificationrnstatus.rn2. Use of the PPS1350 Hall effect Thruster fromrnSNECMA to perform satellite in flightrncorrections (North/South Station Keeping,rnwheels offloading, etc...)rnThis paper presents :rn3. The Xenon Propulsion System, called Hallrneffect Plasma Thruster Module (TM)rncomposition.rn4. The development logic followed, includingrnmanufacturing and acceptance testing.rn5. This paper shows the major interactionsrnbetween mission needs, subsystem equipmentrn, then mechanism. The first application to thernALPHASAT satellite is presentedrnIt also permits to highlight that the mastery of suchrnequipment is a major need for a Prime.
