DISTANCE LEARNING/TEACHING OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANT OPERATION

As an outcome of the Thailand-Canada Nuclear Human Resources Development Project, arnsenior university level course in Nuclear Power Plant Systems and Operation was developedrnfor distance learning/teaching. All the learning resources necessary to complete the course arernon a CD-ROM, including the interactive multi-media lectures, reference text, reviewrnquestions and assignments. A real-time nuclear power plant simulator is also on the CDROM,rnand many of the problems and part of the final examination make use of the simulator.rnAssignments are submitted and returned, after evaluation, via e-mail, and students are ablernget individual attention also by e-mail. The course has been taught in Thailand, Indonesia,rnChina, Vietnam and Canada to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as to industryrnpractitioners, using the distance-learning format.
