The EGNOS system is being developed in Europe tornprovide GPS and GLONASS regional augmentationrnservices to aviation, maritime and land users. EGNOS is arnmajor element of the European Satellite NavigationrnProgram, which is jointly being implemented by thernCommission of the European Union, the European SpacernAgency and EUROCONTROL.rnThe EGNOS system, as any other Wide ArearnAugmentation System, relies on the broadcast ofrncorrection and integrity information in the pseudo-rangerndomain, which are then used to provide a solution in thernposition domain service.rnThe EGNOS System Performance Requirements, and inrnparticular the integrity of the Service, are specified in thernposition domain. A key process in the allocation andrnverification of EGNOS system and sub-systemsrnperformances is therefore the relationship between thernintegrity of the service and the characteristics of thernbroadcast corrections and integrity information.rnThis paper describes a theoretical approach on this issuernand associated simulation results, as currently achieved inrnthe frame of the EGNOS implementation phase.rnIn particular, it identifies the major sources of nonintegrityrnin the EGNOS service and describes inrnprobabilistic terms the impact of non integrity in EGNOSrnmessages on the User level integrity of Service.
