The radioactive wastes produced during thernunit operation mainly include technical waste, spentrnresin, and spent filter cartridge. The spent filterrncartridge is one important part both in the volumernand radioactivity of the radioactive waste, and it isrnthe important content of radioactive wasternmanagement.rnDifferent from PWR, part of high radioactivernspent filter in CANDU unit comes from heavy waterrnsystem such as moderator system. It has to be driedrnthrough blowing before replaced from the system.rnBut this working procedure result the filtrate dregrnbecome flexible, and it can bring on the risk ofrninternal or external exposure. It is very important tornpay high attention to control the contaminationrnspread during spent filter inside transfer.
