Ferroresonance is phenomena, which emerged in case of different circumstances like; short circuit, breaker phase failure. In addition, line and plant outage is another cause of ferroresonance. This study investigates occurrence of ferroresonance in case of line and plant outage in Manitoba Hydro 230 kV electrical network and enhance flexible mitigation of ferroresonance. The network is simulated In PSCAD/EMTDC software. A ferroresonant state is recognized and analyzed in the network and classified in suitable mode by ferroresonance detection tools. Static Var Compensator is used to mitigate ferroresonance along with controlling voltage and reactive power in the network. Power and control circuit of SVC is designed and examined in ferroresonance.
