A Deeper Look at Technology Adoption: Moderation and Technology Selection

摘要

This study proposes a model of factors that may be driving previously observed gender differences in acceptance decision-making. In particular, a significant effect is found for generalized computer self-efficacy, over and above that of psychological gender role identified in prior related research. However, this study departs from prior work in technology adoption by employing actual choice between competing technologies for an identified need as the criterion variable, which is argued to represent a more realistic context for the application of this research stream.
